Raw Cacao Chocolates – Peppermint or Jaffa Flavoured
(Raw, Gluten Free, Dairy Free, Paleo)
Raw Cacao is a highly nutritious superfood rich in antioxidants, minerals and vitamins. It is a great source of magnesium, potassium, zinc and many other important nutrients needed by the body.
- 200g Cocoa Butter (or for the complete raw version use Virgin Cacao Butter)
- 60g Raw Cacao Powder
- 1/3 Cup Pure Organic Maple Syrup
- 1 tsp Natural Vanilla Extract
- 15-20 Drops Pure Organic Peppermint Essential Oil or Pure Organic Orange Essential Oil if you like a Jaffa flavour. (Adjust the drops depending on how strong you’d like the flavour)
Method with Thermomix:
Roughly chop Cocoa butter into small chunks and place into Thermomix. Set temperature to 37 degrees at speed 2 for 8 minutes or till completely melted. Add remaining ingredients and blend on speed 5 for 15 seconds.
Place silicon moulds onto a flat tray then pour your chocolate mix into each chocolate mould and place them straight into the freezer (not fridge) for a minimum of 15 minutes before serving.
Note: The Chocolates need to cool very quickly to stop any separation.
Method without Thermomix:
Roughly chop the Cocoa butter into small chunks and place into a glass bowl. Sit glass bowl in pot with warm to hot water and gently stir until Cocoa butter completely melts. Be very careful to not get any water in the mix as it will separate. Use a whisk and mix till evenly combined. Alternatively you can pour melted cocoa butter into food processor then add remaining ingredients and blend till smooth.
Place silicon moulds onto a flat tray then pour your chocolate mix into each chocolate mould and place them straight into the freezer (not fridge) for a minimum of 15 minutes before serving.
Note: The Chocolates need to cool very quickly to stop any separation.
Once set, these delicious chocolates will keep in the fridge or freezer for as long as you like so you can sneak a healthy treat whenever needed.
Alternate flavour option:
Leave out the essential oil flavouring and place a macadamia nut in each mould before pouring chocolate over the top….So delicious!

I prefer to use the Absolute Organics brand of Cocoa Butter and Raw Cacao Powder. I find their Cocoa butter to be very smooth and creamy adding a beautiful texture to my chocolates.
