Another 40 Years
“..we lay in bed laughing that “Boot Camp” is where we had ended up.”
Life begins at 40, so the saying goes. Simon was approaching 40 and contemplating the variety of options available to celebrate such an occasion – a party, tropical holiday or perhaps greater health; for the next 40 + years.
Having a few warning signs, such as feeling lethargic, irregular bowels, bad back, stress and some other minor aliments, we began researching our options. Turning to our friend “Google” we narrowed down our choice to Living Valley Springs as the place to be for such a milestone occasion.
The first night, having received our individualised program following our initial consultations, we lay in bed laughing that “Boot Camp” is where we had ended up. The educational part of the Retreat starts Day 1, along with conversations amongst guests – concepts of daily steams, water intakes, colonics, 5 am walks and 2 no-food days seemed all rather contradictory to celebrating!
It has been an amazing experience and the greatest gift we could have given each other. Together we have learnt so much while having the time to just BE, knowing all daily concerns are a million miles away. Neither of us came with major illness, weight issues or serious body shut-down as some guests, but we did see how fortunate we have been to get in early, before our bodies start causing physical havoc in our lives.
We very quickly discovered that “ignorance is NOT bliss” when it comes to physical health. The education and genuine practical transference of this knowledge is exceptional. Feeling full equipped and equally inspired towards increasing levels of healthy daily living habits has been fantastic.
The staffing team, surroundings, treatments and the other guests have all been part of what has made our 10 day 40th Birthday Celebrations the greatest gift of life to ourselves and our children ever!
